You were so tired, but you couldn't even sleep.

Ugh. Damn it.

You just wanted to call your boyfriend and have him talk to you until you fell asleep. He'd probably be pissed for weeks if you did, and he'd probably never let you live it down. But, you couldn't resist. Midorima Shintarou was so cute. So, after having a moment of thinking to yourself, you decided to take your cellphone from the bedside table and dial his number.

After a few rings, he picked up from the other line.

"If this is not important, I suggest you wait until tomorrow, [Name]." His deep voice was stoic and bitter as usual and you couldn't help but smile.

"Wah! Wait, Shin-san!" you pleaded, pouting, even though he couldn't see it.

He sighed deeply and you heard him shuffle around on his bed. You lied on your back and stared up at the ceiling. He was probably at peace before you had decided it'd be a great idea to call. At that thought, you giggled softly to yourself, and he only sighed once again.

"Do you need anything?" he asked a bit curtly.

You whined. "I can't sleep, and I really wanted to talk to you."

Midorima sighed for the third time, but this time, it was a soft sigh. You were waiting for one of his infamously rude remarks, but none came, so you just patiently waited for him to say something. Anything. Still, it was quiet. All you could hear was his soft breathing and the sound of his bed sheets.

"Are you tired, Shin-san?" you asked.

"Because of you, not anymore."

He sounded a bit accusing—like usual—and the loud laugh that escaped your lips caused the green-haired male to scowl. You couldn't resist his anger. He was the cutest when he was angry or annoyed. Usually, it was Takao who pissed him off, but you had your turn. And as his girlfriend, it was probably wrong to make him so angry, but who could resist when your boyfriend's a tsundere, right?

"Sorry..." you mumbled.

He grunted. "It's fine. I'm wide awake now anyway."

"...Say, Shin-san..."

"What?"

You blushed. "This is weird. I kind of want to kiss you right now."

Pause.

"It's very normal coming from you. You're always so blunt about things." He was accusing you for no reason—again!

At his comment, you frowned. "You're so mean."

"I do not apologize."

"That's so mean! I'm hanging up, idiot!"

Pause.

You heard him sigh on the other side of the line. "Are you hanging up now?"

"I can't. I actually miss you a lot."

It was silent for another moment. You couldn't tell if the boy was angry at you, or embarrassed at the fact that you were calling him this ungodly hour just to tell him something you'd usually say everyday at school anyway. Another moment passed. And then another. And another. You were getting a bit annoyed at the thought of him suddenly falling asleep and not hearing your confession.

"...Mo-Moron. It's t-too early for t-this."

You smiled slightly. So, he was embarrassed.

"Well. At least say something."

"Sorry. I was just having a moment, okay."

He sighed and paused for a moment. "You're such an idiot."

"Wah! So harsh!" you cried.

"It's way too early in the morning for your whining and complaining, [Name]."

"Whatever!" you responded with a wide smile. "Hey, you know what?"

"What."

"Wow. Much enthusiasm. But, anyway, you kinda...you kinda sound like one of those voice actor apps putting me to sleep."

"..."

"At least say something," you mocked him. At his silent response, you could tell he was blushing a beet red that resembled Kagami's hair, and probably cursing at himself for letting you make a fool out of a responsible man like himself.

"You're annoying."

You pouted. "You could at least say something a real boyfriend would!"

"Are you unhappy because I don't satisfy your standards?"

His voice didn't sound fazed at all, and your pout only intensified. "When you say it like that, you make me sound so shallow," you whined.

You heard him chuckle lowly. It was obviously rare that this boy ever smiled or laughed, so hearing it only for you, you could feel your face heat up and your thumping heart soar. He was actually laughing. At you. Why? Heck, you didn't even care. All that mattered was that you finally made him laugh.

"Shin-san, you have a handsome laugh." You smirked.

"Shut up."

You sighed happily. "We should talk until morning, it's only Saturday."

"Idiot. We have school. It's Friday."

"WAIT! YOU'RE NOT SERIOUS ARE YOU? JESUS CHRIST! I SHOULD BE SLEEPING! GOD DAMN YOU, SHIN-SAN!"

"Wait-- You didn't even do your homework, huh? I won't let you copy mine, you know."

"UGH! SHUT UP, SHIN-SAN! I'M GOING TO SLEEP! JESUS CHRI-" Click.

Before he could hear the rest of your ranting, you ended the call, still cursing at the green-haired teen for not telling you sooner that you had school in the next few hours. Some boyfriend he was, right? But, even as the call ended, you could feel your heart beat faster. You probably wouldn't be able to sleep all night because of the sensation.

Extended Ending:

"Woah, [Name]-chan! You look horrible!" Takao chimed in as you dropped your head on the desk.

You earned dark circles under your eyes. Your messy hair and unproperly dressed uniform didn't make you look or feel any better. It was so easy for Midorima to look so casual and perfect after being up so late. You almost felt jealous of your ignorant boyfriend.

You groaned and shut your eyes. "Shin-san kept me up all night."

Midorima pushed up his glasses. "If I remember correctly, you called me at three in the morning."

"Shut up, Shin-san!"

"Yeah! She's trying to sleep here!" Takao defended you.

"Shut up, Takao!"

"BUT [NAME]-CHAN! I DEFENDED YOUR HONOR!"
